The Technicians Behind the Systems: Meet Gavin Hardwick
Before most people have started their work day, technician Gavin Hardwick is already on a job site, working hard to keep entire buildings comfortable, efficient and running smoothly. Gavin has been part of the Morgan Mechanical team since 2019. Over the last 7 years, he’s grown with the company.
Gavin started working at Morgan Mechanical as an apprentice shortly after college, and since then, he’s become a journeyman. Gavin said his favorite part about working for Morgan Mechanical is how tight-knit the team is. “I did leave the company last year for two months and worked with a different company, and everyone there was just not the same. I like working here, it’s fun, it’s a good time.”
A typical day in the life of Gavin starts bright and early at around 6 in the morning when he meets up with the team of technicians and they prepare for the day ahead. The work they do ranges from HVAC installation to putting up pipe hangers, but out of all the different jobs, Gavin’s favorite is installing boilers. “It’s like putting together a big puzzle a lot of times. We did a project called the Edgewater Apartments, and for four straight summers, it was me and Jeff, and we would go down there for the whole summer and pipe these boilers in. It was just a good time,” Gavin said. “We have a good group of people that work here, for sure.”
During his time at Morgan Mechanical, Gavin has grown both professionally and personally, all while servicing countless clients’ HVAC needs. “I think I was 20 or 21 when I started working here, and I’m 29 now. I got married when I worked here, had my first kid when I worked here, so I’ve been here for a while.”
